This Step by Step Registration Guide is for Provisionally Admitted Candidates of 2020/2021 School of Preliminary Studies (SPS)
Candidates who have applied for the 2020/2021 pre-degree are to check their admission status by clicking on the Remedial Login link (Please login with your Remedial Application Number e.g. UIL/REM/2020/…. and your password). Click HERE to see how.
If you have offered provisional admission, you are required to complete the STEPS OUTLINED IN A TO F below
A. Make Acceptance Fee payment
Firstly, you are expected to complete the acceptance form with a NON REFUNDABLE ACCEPTANCE FEE of Fifteen Thousand Naira (N15,000) which DOES NOT constitute part of the school fees.
a) COMPLETE THE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM.
b) PRINT OUT A COPY OF THE COMPLETED FORM.
B. Proceed to the School of Preliminary Studies, Fufu
Then, proceed to Remedial Campus (School of Preliminary Studies), located at Fufu-Idofian, University of Ilorin, for clearance from MONDAY March 8, 2021, to FRIDAY, March 12, 2021 (from 9.00am till 3.30pm daily).
NOTE: Clearance after the above date would be done at the University admission office on the main campus.
Kindly note that the Remedial Campus, SPS is different from the University of Ilorin main campus.
C. Clearance Documents
For your clearance at the School of Preliminary Studies Fufu:
a) Bring along the following documents:
i. A copy of the receipt of acceptance fee
ii. 4 photocopies of Remedial Form
iii. 4 photocopies of the completed online Registration Form
iv. Originals and 4 photocopies of CERTIFICATES/STATEMENTS OF RESULTS as filled on-line for the admission process.
v. A scratch card of the O-level examination body (or bodies) of the result(s)/certificate(s), e.g. SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, CAMBRIDGE etc, used for the application process. Activate your scratch card by using it at least once but not more than twice to check the result for which the scratch card details are being indicated.
b) After successfully completing the above, you will be given a Clearance Certificate by the ADMISSION OFFICERS.
D. Hostel/Accommodation
For Hostel reservation you are to obtain an accommodation form from STUDENTS’ AFFAIR OFFICER, SPS, Fufu and indicate your choice of accommodation. You will be given account details for payment of accommodation by the Students’ Affairs Officer. The school hostel ranges from N30,000 – N50,000, while the N8,000 female hostel is based on a first-come, first severed basis. Until your hostel is settled before you be given access to pay school fees. (amount are subject to change)
E. School Fees Payment
Candidates are to ensure a minimum balance of One Hundred and Ten Thousand Naira (N110,000.00) on their ATM card account (MASTER OR VERVE CARD) for payment purposes (Tuition: N96,000, School charges: N4,000, Health: N5,000 and Bank Charges: N250.00). Proceed to pay your school fees and other charges on the SPS PORTAL as follows:
a) Tuition – N96,000.00
b) School Charges – N4,000.00
c) Medical Fee – N5,000.00
d) Students Handbook – N1,000.00
e) ID Card – N1,000.00
f) Bandwidth Charges – N1,000.00
g) Library Charges – N2,000.00
h) Caution Fee – N2,000.00
TOTAL for Arts-based students – N113,000.00
For Science based students, (a – h) +
j) Laboratory Fee – N5,000.00
TOTAL for Science-based students – N118,000.00
Arts-based Candidates are to ensure a minimum balance of One Hundred and Fifteen Thousand Naira (N115,000.00) while Science-based students should ensure a minimum balance of One Hundred and Twenty Thousand naira on their ATM card account (MASTER OR VERVE CARD) for the purpose of REMITA charges.
F. Submission
Finally, you are expected to submit two (2) copies of your credentials, evidence of payment of School Fees and the attached scratch card(s) to the School of Preliminary Studies (SPS), Fufu.
Also, submit evidence of payment for accommodation to the Students Affairs Officer for access to Hall of Residence.
NOTE: Any offer of admission that is not accepted and registered on or before the deadline would be forfeited. Clearance MUST be done before school payment.
DO NOT PAY FOR SCHOOL FEES if you are yet to obtain CLEARANCE
Lecture commences a week after registration, Monday, March 15, 2021, at the SCHOOL OF PRELIMINARY STUDIES, FUFU.
