The University of Ilorin recently commenced her Online Clearance which is the first stage of clearance of admission process for admitted students. However, we recently got some enquires hence addressing the issue with a breakdown of what the clearance entails and what you need to note.
What is Unilorin Clearances?
Clearance basically is the final screening process Unilorin will undertake for only admitted students, this involves verifying if the Olevels results you uploaded when registration for Unilorin post utme, its authenticity (ensuring it tallies with what you actually got in your Olevels results.) and other documents uploaded.
Who is Eligible for Clearances?
To be eligible for clearance, you must have gone through this process
- Candidate’s admission must have been approved on the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
- Candidate must have accepted the offer of admission as approved by the JAMB.
- Clearance fee must have been paid. Only those who have paid acceptance fee can proceed to clearances. Clearance Fee is also the acceptance fee (N25,000). Once you pay the fee, you don’t need to worry denial of admission.
What does it involve?
The clearance process is done in two segments;
- ONLINE CLERANCE and
- PHYSICAL CLEARANCE
After clearance fee has been paid, then you will have access to the Online Clearance which involves uploading of details and documents such as Birth Certificate (picture), Citizenship Certificate/State of Origin (picture- ONLY FOR INDIGENES & CATCHMENTS ), D.E Result (picture) and most importantly O’LEVEL DETAILS (Not picture but just details of scratch and registration details)
Once this is done wait for confirmation of clearance before you proceed to the next stage of registration (PHYSICAL).
FOR PHYSICAL
Kindly note that this is strictly done on campus as you will be required to visit your Level Adviser of your Department (course) and submit the physical documents. Here are the basic documents that will be required HERE.
Once this is approved, your portal will be opened to make School fees and selection of your courses.
How long does clearance take ?
First you must note that everyone will undergo clearance hence you are not the only one being cleared, expect some delays as clearance varies to individual, some 24hours, others could take days or week. But to avoid unnecessary delay, make sure you do the needful by uploading the right document or ensure your card details are used just once as mandated and EXERCISE PATIENCE.
Once the upload is made, the school will commence verification and if they find any issue or you passed through, you will be notified via the CLEARANCE STATUS link with a REASON. If no reason is given yet, it means you still have to hold on. Do not delete or re-upload if you are not told to do so. Everyone will be given a REASON.
We advise you to constantly check your Unilorin clearance status on your portal.

After clearances what’s next ?.
As stated above, after clearance you are to wait till the school fixes a resumption date before you proceed to you departments with the physical document.
As at this time, No exact resumption date yet is fixed yet, once out it will be made known on the school portal. Worry less about it as online clearance and fee is paramount.
